Unraced projects of the 2007 season

Projects 2000 - 2025

As there are over 650 Unraced F1 projects from the period 1885 – 2020 I decided before to publish articles of unraced projects per year. This is easier for you to see which attempts happened a specific year. Of course, it is easier for me as well as researching and writing an article takes a lot of time, which I don’t always have.  If you are interested in one of the summarized attempts perhaps, I can give you more info about it.This is the summarized overview of the Unraced projects in 2007.

Spyker-Ferrari F8-VIIB
In 2006 the Jordan Grand Prix team was renamed to Midland F1. It’s well known that the team owner of Midland Alexander Shnaider already had his question marks before the 2006 season started. He did not invest anymore in the team, all he wanted was to get rid of the team. On the 9th of September 2006, it was announced that Spyker Cars purchased the team for 106.6 million dollar. Victor Muller the owner of Spyker Cars is well known for his big talks though poor performance. During the 2007 season, no money was invested in the car or the team.

On the 14th of August 2007, Spyker announced they probably had to sell the team. Vijay Mallya gave them a ring and purchased the team. In 2008 the team’s name would be Force India. In late 2007 the Spyker-Ferrari F8-VIIB made it’s debut. The car was nothing more than a test hack for the 2008 season.

Super Aguri SA Interim Car
Super Aguri F1 debuted in 2006 with the Arrows A23. For 2007, the team would appear with a new car. However, it is said that the team’s car for 2007 was yet to be finished during the testing. To cover this the team used a mix of the Super Aguri SA05/06 and the SA07, the aerodynamic parts to test.
