Did you know? Is a new series of articles about stories, facts, news and anecdotes about the Formula One the most of us have forgotten. It are those forgotten little facts that make the sport we love so interesting. As I love to dig into a lot of magazines such as as Autosport MotorSportMagazine and so on it is easy investigation to do.

Did you know: That Cees Siewertsen tested for the Scuderia Finotto team, founded by J, founded by Jürg Dubler? The team raced in 1974 a couple of races with the Brabham BT42. Cees Siewertsen tested with the car on the Casale circuit in Milan. This in favour as he would race for the team during the Dutch Grand Prix of 1974. However, the team never arrived at the circuit.

Did you know: That Christijan Albers his manager was in speaking terms with the Sauber team for a seat in 2006? As Albers plan were to get higher up in the Formula One Sauber seemed to be a good step. Eventually Albers went to Midland and later Spyker.

Did you know: That Arie Luyendijk tested in 1979 with the McLaren M26? This test happened the 29th of October 1979 on Brands Hatch. It was a day organised by Marlboro, they invited all the drivers they sponsored to the circuit. Luyendijk was one of them, he did 5 laps on a wet Brands. It was not his first test. In 1975 Arie tested with the Ensign N174 on Paul Ricard.

Did you know: That Forti had a long Wishlist of drivers they would like to have? Hideki Noda, Emanuele Naspetti, Alex Zanardi, Gianni Morbidelli, Allan McNish, Paulo Carcasci, Pedro Lamy, Andrea Montermini, Roberto Moreno, Mauricio Gugelmin, Christian Fittipaldi, Gil de Ferran and Giovanni Lavaggi.

Did you know: That Derek Warwick his nickname was Del Boy?

Did you know: That Flavio Briatore was looking to replace Riccardo Patrese? As he was underperforming next to Michael Schumacher they were looking at Nigel Mansell. It seems there were talks with Mansell to hop on in mid-season. Eventually Patrese stayed at Benetton.

Did you know: That Michael Schumacher had the interest from another team after his debut in the F1?  Footwork was keen to contract Michael to race the rest of the season for the team.

Did you know: That Nelson Piquet, after he was dropped by Benetton, was in speaking terms with both Ligier and Ferrari for a drive in 1992 and 1993? While this didn’t work out he announced his retirement.

Did you know: That Enrique Bernoldi and Jos Verstappen were linked to race for the Jordan Grand Prix team in 2003? The drivers were already team mates when driving for Arrows in 2001. Ecentually Verstappen went to Minardi and Enrique left the F1.
